Online travel booking services have been a great success for many years, but there have also been some notable failures. These companies were unable to provide the services they promised, and/or were unable to keep up with the competition. Some of these companies have gone out of business or have had to make drastic changes to their services in order to remain viable. The most recent example of an online travel booking failure was the high-profile collapse of the UK-based companies Expedia and Travelocity. These companies were unable to keep up with the changing demands of customers and were unable to compete with the likes of Airbnb and Booking.com. This failure highlights the importance of staying up to date with customer needs and being able to offer competitive rates and services.
